Publishing ethics

The Revista Multidisciplinaria Perspectiva Científica follows the principles established by COPE, internationally recognized for promoting ethical publishing, academic integrity, transparency, and accountability in scholarly communication.

Authorship and Contributorship

Authors and peer reviewers are required to register and use the journal’s manuscript submission and evaluation platform. Whenever inconsistencies are detected between the information provided and the declared identity of an author or reviewer, the editorial office will initiate a verification procedure. If the identity cannot be satisfactorily confirmed, the editorial workflow will be suspended. Should such discrepancies be identified after publication, the published article may be corrected or, where appropriate, retracted.

The criteria for authorship are described in the journal’s author guidelines. Authorship is reserved exclusively for individuals who have made significant intellectual contributions to the study. Each author must have actively participated in one or more essential stages of the research, including the conception or design of the study, data collection, analysis or interpretation, software or methodological development when applicable, or the drafting and critical revision of the manuscript. Furthermore, every author must approve the final version submitted for publication and accept responsibility for both their individual contribution and the overall integrity of the work.

Authors must identify their specific contributions during the submission process. Contributions should be reported using the authors’ initials or full names. A contribution statement may specify, for instance, who designed the investigation, who collected and analyzed the data, who prepared the initial manuscript, and who performed the critical review. Every listed author must have participated in preparing the final version of the manuscript.

Before submitting a manuscript, the following requirements must be fulfilled:

Authors must appropriately recognize previous scholarly work by citing relevant literature where necessary.
The manuscript must be original and must not have been previously published in any format that conflicts with open-access publication policies.
The manuscript must not be simultaneously under consideration by another journal or publishing platform.
Every listed author must have approved the manuscript submission and agreed to the inclusion of their professional and personal information.
Authors must possess the legal rights required to submit the manuscript and authorize the journal to publish it under an open-access license.
Permission must be secured for the use of any third-party copyrighted material, and supporting documentation must be available if requested.
All information presented in the manuscript must be accurate, complete, and consistent with accepted scientific and ethical standards.
Data, materials, and research resources must have been obtained legally and in accordance with applicable national legislation.
Authors consent to the publication of their names, institutional affiliations, and contact information on the journal’s website and related academic platforms.

Questions related to authorship are monitored throughout the editorial process. Any modification involving the addition, removal, or reordering of authors requires written approval from all co-authors. If an authorship dispute arises, editorial processing will remain suspended until the matter has been formally resolved.

Research Ethics Statement

All manuscripts submitted to the Revista Multidisciplinaria Perspectiva Científica must comply with internationally accepted ethical standards applicable to the corresponding field of research. Studies involving human participants or animals must explicitly indicate, within the Methods section, the approval granted by an authorized ethics committee or institutional review board. When formal ethical approval is unavailable, authors must explain how recognized ethical principles and relevant legal requirements were observed. Whenever applicable, informed consent must have been obtained from all participants unless a justified exception is permitted.

Conflicts of Interest / Competing Interests

All authors are required to disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the conduct or interpretation of the research. Conflict of interest declarations must be completed during manuscript submission. If undisclosed conflicts are identified during peer review, the evaluation process will be suspended until adequate clarification is provided. Conflicts detected after publication may result in editorial corrections or, when warranted, article retraction.

Disclosure of Financial Support and Funding Sources

Authors must provide complete and transparent information regarding every source of financial support received for the research. Funding information should appear in a dedicated Funding Statement included within the manuscript.

Funding disclosures should include:

The complete name of every funding agency or sponsoring organization.
Relevant grant, contract, or project identification numbers.
A clear explanation of the role, if any, played by the funding organizations throughout the research process.

Authors should explicitly indicate whether funding organizations influenced the study design, data acquisition, analysis, interpretation of findings, manuscript preparation, or publication decisions. If the funding bodies had no involvement in these activities, this should be clearly stated. Providing inaccurate or incomplete funding information may constitute a violation of publication ethics.

Acknowledging Non-Author Contributions

Individuals who contributed to the research but do not satisfy the journal’s authorship criteria should be recognized in an Acknowledgements section. Examples include technical support, methodological assistance, editorial feedback, language editing, or general academic advice. Such acknowledgements do not imply responsibility for the scientific content of the manuscript.

Before naming any individual in the acknowledgements, authors must obtain that person's permission. The acknowledgements should remain concise and include only relevant contributions. If no qualifying contributions exist, this section may be omitted.

Data and Reproducibility

The Revista Multidisciplinaria Perspectiva Científica supports the principles of research transparency, openness, and reproducibility. Manuscripts will be considered for publication only when the underlying data, research methods, study materials, and analytical procedures are sufficiently documented to permit verification or replication.

Authors using publicly accessible datasets must provide adequate documentation, including software code, scripts, or computational workflows necessary to reproduce the reported analyses. Researchers generating original datasets are encouraged to deposit the data and supporting materials in recognized digital repositories unless ethical, legal, or contractual restrictions prevent public sharing. Where restrictions apply, authors must clearly describe the limitations and explain how qualified researchers may request access.

Data sharing may be postponed until publication, and temporary embargoes may be approved under exceptional circumstances. Manuscripts will not proceed to publication until all data availability requirements have been fulfilled. Failure to comply after publication may lead to appropriate editorial actions.

Ethical Oversight

All research submitted to the journal must adhere to the ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements applicable in the country where the investigation was conducted. Additional safeguards are required for studies involving vulnerable populations. Authors are responsible for protecting participant rights, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality, ensuring that personal information has been appropriately anonymized to prevent identification.

Any concerns regarding ethical compliance will be examined through a formal editorial review procedure. Authors will be given the opportunity to provide explanations or supporting documentation. Depending on the findings, editorial decisions may include manuscript rejection, publication of a correction, article retraction, or notification of the relevant institutional authorities.

Preprints

Authors are permitted to share preprint versions of their manuscripts through personal websites, institutional repositories, or non-commercial preprint servers before formal publication. Authors should retain copyright ownership of the preprint version and, once the article has been officially published, update the preprint record by including a link to the final published version.

Profile and Responsibilities

Profile of reviewers

Reviewers are scholars and subject-matter experts with demonstrated experience in the disciplines addressed by the journal. They are expected to possess advanced academic qualifications and a solid scientific trajectory, supported by publications in peer-reviewed journals and active engagement within the research community.

Reviewers perform their duties with independence, impartiality, and strict confidentiality. They must remain free of any actual or perceived conflicts of interest involving the authors, affiliated institutions, or the findings presented in the manuscript under evaluation.

Responsibilities of reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

Assess manuscripts in a critical, objective, and constructive manner, considering only their scientific merit, methodological soundness, originality, and academic relevance.
Preserve the confidentiality of all manuscript contents and refrain from disclosing or using any information obtained during the review process for personal benefit or the benefit of others.
Promptly disclose any real or potential conflicts of interest that might affect the objectivity of the evaluation.
Submit review reports that are clear, respectful, evidence-based, and delivered within the established deadlines.
Identify possible ethical concerns, including plagiarism, data falsification or manipulation, duplicate publication, or other questionable research practices.
Avoid relying on generative artificial intelligence tools to prepare peer-review reports or substantive evaluations of submitted manuscripts.
Support the improvement of manuscripts through methodological, technical, and conceptual recommendations without assuming editorial or authorship responsibilities.

Authors

Authors are responsible for:

Confirming that the submitted manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal.
Verifying that every listed author satisfies the accepted authorship criteria and has approved the final version of the manuscript.
Reporting author contributions accurately and completely through the CRediT taxonomy in the designated section.
Ensuring the accuracy, integrity, transparency, and traceability of the data, methodologies, and findings presented.
Complying with all applicable research ethics requirements, including ethical approvals and informed consent whenever required.
Declaring all conflicts of interest and funding sources openly and transparently.
Securing the appropriate permissions for reproducing or using third-party materials.
Responding promptly and thoroughly to editorial observations and reviewer comments.
Assuming full responsibility for the manuscript's content, including cases where artificial intelligence or automated tools have been used solely as technical assistance.
Cooperating with the journal whenever corrections, clarifications, or post-publication actions become necessary.

Editors and Editorial Board

Editors and Editorial Board members are distinguished academics with recognized scientific expertise and editorial experience in the fields covered by Revista Multidisciplinaria Perspectiva Científica. They perform their responsibilities with academic independence, professional integrity, and a firm commitment to preserving the quality of the scholarly record.

The Editorial Board provides guidance on the journal's editorial policies, thematic orientation, and academic development while contributing to the continuous enhancement of its scientific quality and ethical standards.

Supervising compliance with publication ethics, research integrity principles, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence.
Addressing suspected cases of misconduct through transparent, consistent, and proportionate procedures.

Allegations of Misconduct

All reports of scientific or editorial misconduct are managed with the highest level of confidentiality, diligence, and impartiality, following internationally recognized ethical standards and the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Each allegation is examined individually, considering its nature, seriousness, and contextual circumstances. Authors, reviewers, and any other parties involved are provided with a fair opportunity to respond and submit explanations or supporting evidence.

When misconduct is verified, the journal may implement appropriate editorial measures, including rejection of the manuscript, publication of a correction or expression of concern, retraction of the article, and, where justified, notification of the relevant institutions or competent authorities.

Complaints

Complaints concerning editorial decisions, peer-review procedures, or the conduct of editors, reviewers, or editorial staff are treated with seriousness and evaluated through a transparent, fair, and impartial process.

Each complaint is reviewed independently in accordance with recognized ethical guidelines. When a complaint is determined to be well-founded, the journal will implement appropriate corrective measures to strengthen editorial procedures and safeguard the integrity of the publication.

Permanency, Retractions, Post-publication Discussions and Corrections

Articles published in Revista Multidisciplinaria Perspectiva Científica constitute the official version of record and are not altered after publication except under exceptional, justified, and ethically supported circumstances.

Whenever necessary to preserve the accuracy and reliability of the scholarly record, the journal may publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions in accordance with established ethical procedures. Retracted articles remain publicly accessible and are clearly identified with an explanatory statement indicating the reasons for the retraction.

The journal encourages academic discussion after publication. Commentaries and responses may be considered for publication following editorial evaluation and, when appropriate, peer review. Well-supported concerns raised after publication may result in editorial actions intended to maintain the integrity, transparency, and credibility of the scientific record.
